POMACE

Pomace is a residue of olive oil factories and is an important biomass type seen in Mediterranean countries. Pomace can be obtained in large quantities at low cost.

Vegetable oils and olive pomace can be considered sulfur-free alternative fuels. Since olive pomace is actually a waste material, it can create problems if it is not used appropriately and acceptable like other wastes.

The efficient and appropriate use of pomace in energy production provides a solution to two problems; clean energy production and the reuse of this material, which is the waste of olive oil plants. As a fuel, pomace is Turkey’s most economical, environmentally friendly, and efficient alternative fuel with minimum ash content.

Pomace

The dried version of the core and the fleshy part of the olive are the raw materials of pomace, which does not contain any oil. The amount of ash formed when it burned is very small and it does not make any dross. It does not require mixing and removing ash like any other solid fuels. It gives very high efficiency in industrial boilers and stoker boilers.
